Thank you

Thanks so much to the organisers, presenters and audience for such an inspiring event! Since I'm notoriously bad at making succinct blog posts, my rather wordy reflections can be found on my own blog:

- Fleshing out reflections on art + science collaborations
- Fleshing out, Pt. 2, in which science and industry speak

I'll also be posting annotated presentation slides in the next day or two As promised, here are the annotated slides for my presentation:

- Seams and Scars: Tracing Technological Boundaries and Points of Attachment (pdf)

and I look forward to continuing discussions and future collaborations. Cheers.

Fleshing Reviews

Fleshing Out has been covered quite extensive by Sascha Pohflepp on We Make Money Not Art. It gives a good idea of the seminar, the different presentations, demos and discussions. Some of our speakers have been blogging on design.nl, which gives a more personal account of the event. An elaborate report on both the seminar and the workshop are in the pipeline. On this blog will be announced when those are published, on either the Virtueel Platform or V2_ website. V2_ did a live stream on the event on thursday, which will be archived on the V2_ website and available on demand. Also annnounced here.

Fleshing Out Part 2

After a very succesfull first day of Fleshing Out we are now peparing for the second day. The seminar showed a whole range of interesting speakers and demonstrations, dealing with different technologies and materials. In the end discussion interdisciplinary work and collaboration was discussed. Most speakers are from an arts background end then moved towards science and technology, and making that thriving to their work. They talked about what it means and takes to be working in a different realm, and what motivates them to do so. This forming a perfect base for the second day of Fleshing Out, as there participants will be working on projectproposals and working out what it takes to realize them.

only two days to go...

Preparations for the Fleshing Out event are well under way. Only two days to go. The programme for both days is available, as well as the list of participants. Design.nl asked us to do one week of blogging on the Fleshing Out event. So some of the speakers will be tellling about their experiences: how they are preparing their demos, and also highlights from the seminar and workshop. These posts will be appearing on this blog as well. We invited all the participants of Fleshing Out to blog with us. So feel free.
